Telegram CEO Pavel Durov has introduced Cocoon, a new decentralized AI compute network powered by the TON blockchain.

Per details, the platform is designed to bring further traction to privacy-focused artificial intelligence services and will offer seamless integration within Telegram’s vast ecosystem of over one billion users.

Gains in AI come amid key developments at companies and startups, including Microsoft, Nvidia, and OpenAI.

Telegram CEO unveils new AI compute network, Cocoon, on TON

Pavel Durov, founder of Telegram, unveiled Cocoon, short for Confidential Compute Open Network, at the Blockchain Life conference in Dubai 2025.

According to details shared on Oct. 29, Cocoon is a decentralized infrastructure initiative that taps into the world of blockchain, artificial intelligence, and social media.

The fusion of blockchain, AI, and social connectivity means Cocoon is ready to transform the global ecosystem via Telegram and The Open Network (TON).

In this case, Cocoon’s network will serve as a decentralized platform that integrates artificial intelligence and the TON blockchain, making it unlike traditional centralized AI networks.

Durov emphasized that the network’s core mission will be to deliver secure, private AI computations without compromising user data.

With Cocoon, GPU owners will have an opportunity to contribute computing power to the network. In return, they will be eligible to earn TON tokens.

Meanwhile, developers will have a network that offers not just privacy, but also access to low-cost AI compute,” Durov noted.
